Admission Requirements
Students with less than 24 credit hours will be required to submit their high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores, and will follow the same admission criteria as incoming freshmen.
**NOTE: For students wishing to transfer into B&E from another school or college within WVU (internal transfers/major changes), Academic Status Update forms (major change forms) will only be reviewed for acceptance up until midterm of the student’s first semester at WVU. After the semester’s midterm date has passed, students must wait until that semester’s grades post to determine their eligibility to switch into the College of Business and Economics. Students must earn at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in their first semester at WVU and have completed OR be prepared to take MATH 122 or higher to be eligible for admission to B&E.
Students with 25-28 credit hours must have a 2.5 overall College GPA and have completed OR be prepared to take MATH 122 or higher.
Students with 29-58 credit hours must have a 2.5 college GPA and have completed College algebra (or its equivalent) with a minimum grade of ‘C’.
Students with 59+ credit hours must have a 2.5 college GPA and be no more than one semester away from entering the upper division courses. International students must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
