B&E Mountaineer Quest - Summer 2016

Mountaineer Quest Campfire

WHAT: This camp-based, peer-led, 5-day program that prepares incoming students for life at WVU and in WV. Hosted at Camp Muffly in WV, students will participate in day trips around WVU, adventuring with their group. Day trips may include sightseeing, rock climbing, rafting, hiking, service and activities around the camp. Students explore and reflect on their transition to college in a small group as well as within a larger setting of incoming students.

WHEN: This session runs from June 27-July 1 and is ONLY for incoming business students, allowing our incoming students to get to know other like-minded students they’ll share their WVU experience wtih!

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: All participants in this session will also enroll in the same section of BCOR 199 (The fall introduction to business requirement) The trip itself does not carry academic credit. However, because of the summer component, some of the fall BCOR 199 components will be waived, thus giving the students a lighter fall course load.

HOW MUCH: This program is FREE FOR YOU!* While the trip has a value of $500, the WVU Provost’s Office and the College of B&E have teamed up to cover all remaining costs of this program for incoming business students- because we want to give you a great first experience to help set you up for success in your WVU career!

* Within the Program Agreement Packet is a page called “Billing Agreement”. B&E students/parents will still need to complete the Billing Agreement page, along with the rest of the documents in that packet, even though their student account will not ultimately be charged.

WHAT ABOUT NSO? Students can make it a one-time trip to Morgantown by attending New Student Orientation on Friday, June 24th, enjoying a weekend exploring Morgantown and the surrounding area, and then starting with Quest on Monday, June 27th.
