Center for Career Development

Many Online MBA students and alumni utilize the Center for Career Development (CCD) for career counseling, career development services, and to help change career paths. The CCD is available to mentor Online MBA students on how to land a promotion or search for new opportunities with a different employer or within a new industry.

MBA Advisory Council

The MBA Advisory Council serves the College of Business and Economics by providing insight regarding how the MBA and Online MBA programs can continue to meet industry needs and remain competitive through quality and reputation. Council members meet biannually to address current events within the College and future goals of the programs.

IT Services

New to online classes? Executive MBA student Mike King shows how simple the online format can be – especially for those who balance work and family every day.

The College of Business and Economics has our own information technology department. B&EIT should be a student's first contact at 304-293-7826 or BEITHelp@mail.wvu.edu regarding any technological questions. Online MBA students are required to have access to a computer. Laptops are recommended, as students may be required to use one during the four residencies.

  • The machine should meet the minimum guidelines listed for WVU students: http://it.wvu.edu/it-units/tsc/recommendations
  • Three of the courses in the program (Business Research, Corporate Finance, and Decision Analysis) require the use of Microsoft Excel for Windows. The add-ins used for these courses will NOT work in Microsoft Excel for Mac. If students choose to use an Apple computer, they can purchase and install software to the Mac to allow it to run Windows and MS Excel for Windows.

Online courses are taught through WVU's eCampus system. Here is an eCampus tutorial to familiarize yourself with the program.
